Arizona Gas Prices Surge to Record High in August
Gas prices in Sun City West have continued their upward climb, according to recent data from AAA Arizona.
The average price per gallon rose by 2 cents during the past week, settling at $4.44 a gallon as of Friday. This represents the highest August on record for the national gasoline average, with current prices outpacing normal levels for this time of year.
Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, attributed the increase to crude oil prices rather than demand. Gas prices rose by 4 cents in the state over the same period, reaching an average of $4.40 per gallon.
