Arizona Gas Prices Tick Up Amid Ongoing Crude Oil Uncertainty
Arizona drivers are paying more at the pump as crude oil prices remain high. The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Arizona rose to $4.40, up 2 cents from last week and making it one of the most expensive markets in the country. According to AAA's fuel report, Arizona currently ranks eighth among states with the highest gas prices nationwide.
The national average also increased, climbing back to $4.07 after briefly dipping below $4.00 on Monday. Crude oil prices are hovering around $80 per barrel due to ongoing market uncertainty along the Strait of Hormuz. This has kept fuel prices higher than normal for this time of year.
'While gasoline demand is down, crude oil prices are keeping pump prices higher than normal for this time of year,' said Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group. Arizona drivers can expect to pay the most in Scottsdale at $4.50 per gallon and the least in Tucson at $4.30.
