Armenia Eyes Azerbaijan as Potential Gas Supplier
Armenia may consider importing natural gas from Azerbaijan in the future, according to Sarkis Khandanyan, a lawmaker from Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party. The idea is part of the TRIPP project, which aims to diversify Armenia's gas supplies by constructing a pipeline through Armenian territory.
Khandanyan stated that he did not expect any major technical difficulties in implementing such a project. He also emphasized the importance of reducing Armenia's dependence on a single gas supplier, particularly Russia.
The TRIPP project could potentially provide Armenia with access to an additional source of natural gas, opening up new energy relations between the two neighboring countries.
