Asian Markets Mostly Gain as Oil Prices Climb
Asian markets mostly gained on Monday, led by Japan's Nikkei 225 which surged 2.1% to 66,970.22.
The index was boosted by strong tech sector performance, with Tokyo Electron rising 4.1% and Advantest increasing 6.4%.
However, South Korea's Kospi added only 0.7%, as major chipmakers Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix fell 0.4% and 0.1% respectively.
The Hong Kong Hang Seng gained 0.9%, while the Shanghai Composite picked up 0.7%.
Taiwan's Taiex surged 1.6%, but India's Sensex was only up 0.2%.
Meanwhile, oil prices rose after Israel rejected a deal announced by US President Donald Trump for Gaza.
Brent crude gained 0.6% to $84.01 per barrel, while U.S. benchmark crude advanced 0.3% to $78.46 per barrel.
