Asian Shares Rise, Oil Prices Dip Amid Ongoing Tensions
Oil prices dipped on Thursday after a recent surge, with Brent crude trading at around US$95.26 per barrel, down 0.4% from Wednesday's close.
The decline in oil prices came as Asian shares rose, tracking gains on Wall Street where the S&P 500, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and Nasdaq composite all increased by around 0.5% on Wednesday.
Renewed fighting between the US and Iran had previously pushed oil prices higher, but US President Donald Trump said he doesn't expect the bombing campaign to last 'much longer.'
In the region, major Asian indices showed gains, including Tokyo's Nikkei 225, which rose 0.2%, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index edged up 0.1%.
