Asian Shares Surge Amid Wall Street Gains, Oil Prices Slip
Oil prices slipped on Thursday after a recent spike, with Brent crude trading near $95 a barrel. The international standard fell 0.4% to $95.26 per barrel.
The decline in oil prices followed renewed fighting between the US and Iran earlier in the week, which pushed oil prices sharply higher. However, US President Donald Trump said he doesn't expect the bombing campaign to last 'much longer.'
Asian shares, on the other hand, advanced across the board, tracking gains for stocks on Wall Street. The benchmark S&P 500 rose 0.5% on Wednesday, with investors welcoming encouraging signals about demand for artificial intelligence.
