Asian Shares Track US Gains as Oil Prices Soar

Asian shares tracked the gains on Wall Street on Monday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 leading advances. The market in Tokyo rose after stocks rebounded in New York on Friday. Oil prices also climbed higher.

The Nikkei 225 gained 1% to 29,700, while the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong increased by 0.8%. In contrast, South Korea's Kospi fell 0.3% and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.2%.

Brent crude oil prices rose by 1.5% to $96.50 a barrel, while the US benchmark West Texas Intermediate increased by 1.4% to $91.20 per barrel.
