Asian Stocks Bounce Back Amid Weaker US Economic Report
Asian stock markets mostly rose on Monday after a recent decline in US stocks. The Nikkei 225 index in Tokyo gained 0.3% to 68,929.33 following a positive economic report from Japan. The country's economy grew at a 1.1% annual pace in the April-June quarter, exceeding forecasts.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng picked up 1.6% to 25,521.99, while the Shanghai Composite index rose 0.8% to 3,960.19. US futures remained relatively steady and oil prices were mixed.
