Asian stocks followed Wall Street's lead on Monday, with Japan's Nikkei 225 surging 2.1% to 66,970.22. The gains were driven by strong performances from technology companies like Tokyo Electron and Advantest.

In South Korea, the Kospi added 0.7% to 6,299.66, but major chipmakers like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix struggled, losing 0.4% and 0.1%, respectively.

Analysts attributed the foreign investors' decision to sell Big Tech shares to lock in profits from recent gains and rebalance their holdings into other industries.
