Natural gas is becoming an increasingly important energy source globally, especially in Asia. According to Global Energy Monitor data, the region boasts about 950,000 MW of operational gas-fired power capacity compared to 735,000 MW in the Americas and 366,000 MW in Europe.

The United States stands out as a top LNG exporter due to its extensive infrastructure supporting this status. In contrast, Asia dominates the LNG import scene, accounting for over two-thirds of global import capacity.

This growth is driven by governments and utilities aiming to meet rising electricity needs while ensuring reliable power alongside renewables.
