Asia's Refined Fuel Imports Plummet Amid Iran Conflict

The Iran conflict has caused Asia's refined fuel imports to hit a post-war low. According to data from Kpler, a commodities analyst, Asia's imports of light and middle distillates in August fell to 5.10 million barrels per day (bpd), down from 5.61 million bpd in July.

This marks the lowest point since the war started, with imports dropping about 2 million bpd from the average of 7.06 million bpd in the three months leading up to February 28, when the U.S. and Israel launched aerial strikes against Iran.

The constrained supplies of refined fuels are showing up in prices, with Singapore gasoil ending at $155.15 a barrel on Monday, up 70% from where it was - $91.42 - on February 27, the day before the Iran war started.
