The ASX 200 surged to its highest level in five months, hitting 9139.7 after a strong Wall Street night and resilient data.
The index gained 115 points (1.28%) to 9134 at 3:45pm AEST, with the energy sector leading the charge as crude oil rose 1.49% to $81.25 due to improved diplomatic efforts in Iran.
Better-than-expected earnings and a significant raise in full-year guidance by Palantir also contributed to the rally, pushing its share price up 14.97% in after-hours trading to $144.45.
