ASX Set to Rise as Wall Street Rebounds from Four-Day Slump
The Australian share market is expected to open modestly higher on Monday after Wall Street rebounded from four consecutive losses. Easing oil prices contributed to the positive lead, helping the US markets recover from a difficult week.
ASX 200 futures were up 18 points, or 0.2%, at 8,747. The S&P/ASX 200 fell 78.2 points, or 0.9%, to 8,741.20 on Friday, extending its weekly decline by almost 3%.
RBA deputy governor Sarah Hunter will speak at a regional summit in Canberra, providing further guidance on Australia's inflation and interest-rate outlook. The corporate calendar includes dividend payments from Computershare, Objective Corporation, Accent Group, and Fiducian Group.
