Atlantic Hurricane Drought Fuels US LNG Export Growth

The Atlantic hurricane season has reached its peak without a hurricane, allowing US LNG terminals to operate at high capacity. This is significant because the Atlantic hurricane season is typically the riskiest time of year for these facilities, with hurricanes often causing disruptions and damage. However, with no hurricanes in sight, feedgas deliveries are running above last year's pace by more than 2 Bcf/d.

According to Natural Gas Intelligence, the Atlantic ACE (Atlantic Category 5) index has sunk to a level not seen since 1941. This is largely due to El Niño conditions that have suppressed tropical development in the region. As a result, US LNG exports are expected to continue growing.
