Atlantic spot LNG shipping rates have dropped below $80,000 per day, according to Spark Commodities. This marks a continuation of the downward trend in rates for Atlantic spot LNG shipping.

The latest figures come as the global demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) remains strong, with US exports reaching 35 cargoes during the week ending July 29.

Shell CEO Wael Sawan has confirmed that the company and its LNG Canada partners expect to take a final investment decision on the second phase of the project by the end of this year.
