The month of August is just around the corner, and Indian households need to be aware of the new rules for Indane Gas, HP Gas, and Bharat Gas. One of the major changes is that oil marketing companies will revise their LPG prices on August 1, which could lead to a hike in prices due to elevated crude oil prices.

Crude oil prices have climbed by 40% in July, according to Trading Economics, and this has led to concerns about a potential increase in LPG prices. The good news is that the 19 Kg LPG price was cut by Rs 173 to Rs 183.50 per cylinder across cities in July.

The government has also made it mandatory for households to switch to PNG if there is an infrastructure available, and customers can now order shorter LPG cylinders through quick services platforms like Instamart. The new rules also include the requirement of e-KYC for seamless eligibility of LPG subsidy under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
