Austral Gold Sees Q2 Growth with 17% Production Increase
Austral Gold Limited, an established gold producer, has filed its Q2 2026 Quarterly Activities Report. The report highlights significant improvements at Guanaco mine in Chile, where production increased by 17% quarter-on-quarter to 3,381 GEO (Q1 2026: 2,879 GEO). This increase was largely due to the commissioning of additional crushing capacity, which resulted in lower unit costs.
At Casposo mine in Argentina, Austral demonstrated its operating flexibility by generating a new revenue stream through toll processing. During a two-month campaign, 39,342 tonnes were processed at a gold equivalent recovery above 85%, generating US$5.9 million in fee revenue. Owned-material production resumed in July.
Austral's Chief Executive Officer, Stabro Kasaneva, commented on the quarter's performance: 'Q2 2026 was an important operational milestone for Austral Gold.' He noted that the company is well-positioned to deliver on its growth strategy, with exploration advancing across both Chile and Argentina, further debt reduction and a stronger balance sheet.
The updated Guanaco Technical Report extended mine life to approximately 14 years (Jan 2026 - Feb 2040) with an after-tax NPV of US$192.1 million at a 10% discount rate, using a LOM gold price of US$3,135/oz.
