Australia Stocks Surge as Middle East Tensions Ease
Australian stocks rebounded on Monday, gaining nearly 1% as easing tensions in the Middle East lifted sentiment and boosted risk appetite.
The S&P/ASX 200 index rose 0.9% to 8,851.30 points, its best session since July 3, after falling 0.8% on Friday.
Copper prices surged higher, leading miners such as Rio Tinto and BHP to gain 1% and 1.4%, respectively.
Gold miners also rose, advancing 5.1% as bullion prices firmed up.
