The Australian sharemarket is expected to open lower on Friday after Wall Street sold off overnight amid concerns over rising US bond yields and oil prices.

ASX futures pointed to a decline of 23 points, or 0.3%, at the open, following a mixed session in Europe where energy shares rose as Brent crude prices climbed.

The S&P/ASX 200 closed 30 points, or 0.3%, higher on Thursday, snapping a six-session losing streak, but investor attention remains on labour market data and corporate reporting.
