Azerbaijan and Türkiye Bolster Energy Partnership with Green Power Push

Azerbaijan and Türkiye are expanding their energy cooperation to include green power generation, building on three decades of partnership in oil and gas transit.

The two countries have worked together on various projects, including the Baku, Tbilisi, Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Southern Gas Corridor, which has enabled Azerbaijan to export hydrocarbons directly to Turkish markets and beyond.

Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov highlighted the impressive supply volumes, with 561 million tonnes of oil and 196 billion cubic meters of gas supplied to Türkiye and international markets in transit since the start of their partnership.

The two countries are now focusing on renewable energy sources, with joint projects aimed at developing green electricity corridors and increasing exports, including through the use of wind and solar power.
