Azerbaijan Logs $17.6M in Armenian Exports as Transit Trade Grows
Azerbaijan has made significant strides in exporting goods to neighboring Armenia, according to data from the State Customs Committee. Between January and August of this year, Azerbaijan exported $17.6 million worth of goods to Armenia.
The trade between the two countries gained momentum after President Ilham Aliyev lifted restrictions on transit shipments in October 2025, allowing for the delivery of Kazakhstani grain to Armenia. Since then, various shipments have been made, including fuel, fertilizer, and grain, with a total weight of over 43,000 metric tons.
The majority of these shipments were transported by rail, with some notable examples including a 16-tank-car shipment of diesel fuel in September worth approximately 16,000 metric tons. On the same day, five railcars of wheat weighing a total of 355 metric tons and three railcars of fertilizer weighing 180 metric tons were also shipped from Russia to Armenia via Azerbaijan.
