Azerbaijan Offers Gas Supply Boost to Ukraine Amid EU Exports Surge
Azerbaijan is ready to supply natural gas to Ukraine if needed and expand cooperation in energy security, according to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.
In a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, Bayramov emphasized the importance of energy cooperation between the two countries, citing Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) as a long-time operator in Ukraine's market.
'Energy cooperation is one of the key pillars of economic relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine,' Bayramov said. 'If the need arises, we will be pleased to supply gas to our friendly partner Ukraine.'
Azerbaijan has been increasing its natural gas exports to the European Union since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with President Ilham Aliyev stating that exports have risen by 65% during this period.
