Azerbaijan Offers Gas Supply Deal to Ukraine Amid Energy Security Cooperation Talks
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has expressed his country's willingness to supply natural gas to Ukraine. During a briefing in Kyiv, he stated that Azerbaijan would be 'happy' to supply gas to Ukraine if the necessary system is put in place.
Azerbaijan currently supplies natural gas to 16 countries worldwide, including 13 European countries and 10 EU member states. Bayramov also mentioned an opportunity for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in energy security, particularly within a project involving Ukrainian gas storage facilities for broader geographical context supply.
Ukraine's acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha welcomed the proposal, noting that Azerbaijani businesses have maintained a strong presence in Ukraine. He expressed interest in diversifying energy supplies to Ukraine and mentioned a package of proposals for Azerbaijan.
