Azerbaijan Offers Gas Supply to Ukraine Amid Energy Sector Shortfalls

Azerbaijan has expressed its willingness to supply gas to Ukraine if necessary, according to Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov. Speaking at a joint press conference with Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Bayramov emphasized the importance of energy cooperation between the two countries.

Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan's state-owned company SOCAR has been present on the Ukrainian market for decades and continues its activities in Ukraine actively. He also mentioned that SOCAR has major plans for the future in terms of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Azerbaijan currently supplies natural gas to 16 countries around the world, including 12 European countries, 10 of which are EU member states. Bayramov stated that Azerbaijan is ready to expand its cooperation with Ukraine, particularly given its existing experience in supplying gas to Europe.
