Azerbaijan has expressed its readiness to supply natural gas to Ukraine if needed, and is exploring ways to utilize Ukraine's underground gas storage facilities for regional energy security.

During a joint press conference in Kyiv with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated that the country has maintained a long-standing presence in the Ukrainian market through its State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

Azerbaijan currently supplies gas to 12 European countries, including 10 EU member states, and views itself as a critical energy partner for Europe.
