Azerbaijan Ready to Supply Gas to Ukraine Amid Regional Energy Cooperation Efforts

Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has announced that his country is prepared to supply natural gas to Ukraine if necessary, in a move aimed at strengthening regional energy security. At a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in Kyiv on Thursday, Bayramov emphasized the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the energy sector.

Bayramov highlighted that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has been actively present on the Ukrainian market for some time and is planning further development of energy cooperation. He noted that a dynamic dialogue is underway to identify mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, including the potential use of Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.

Bayramov also emphasized Azerbaijan's strategic role in ensuring Europe's energy security, pointing out that it supplies gas to 12 European countries, with 10 of those being EU members. He stated that Azerbaijan will be ready to supply gas to Ukraine if needed, citing the country's commitment to regional energy cooperation.
