Azerbaijan Regains Top Spot as Turkey's Largest Pipeline Gas Supplier
Azerbaijan has reclaimed its position as Türkiye's largest pipeline gas supplier for the fourth consecutive year in June, according to data from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA). This comes after Russia briefly took over the top spot in January through May of this year.
In June, Azerbaijan supplied around 1.01 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas to Türkiye, surpassing Iran with 883 million cubic meters and Russia with 882 million cubic meters. Russia had been Türkiye's largest pipeline gas supplier for those first five months of the year.
Türkiye's total natural gas imports decreased by 6.19% in June compared to the same month last year, falling to around 3.06 billion cubic meters from 3.26 bcm in June 2025. Of this total, around 2.78 billion cubic meters was delivered via pipelines, while 282 million cubic meters was imported as liquefied natural gas (LNG).
