Azerbaijan Sees Significant Trade Balance Growth Despite Corn Import Decline
Azerbaijan imported 30,600 tons of corn worth $14.4 million in January-July this year.
This marks a decrease of 6,300 tons, or 17.1%, compared to the same period last year, while their value increased by $335,000, or 2.3%.
The volume of corn imports accounted for only 0.1% of Azerbaijan's total import expenditure during this time.
In contrast to a significant increase in exports, which rose by 27%, imports actually decreased by 27.4% over the past year, resulting in a positive foreign trade balance of $9.46 billion, nearly six times higher than in the same period last year.
