Azerbaijan's natural gas deliveries to Syria via Turkish territory have surpassed 735 million cubic meters in the first half of this year, according to a report by Report.az.

This represents a significant increase from the previous year, with Azerbaijan accounting for 66.49% of Turkey's total gas exports during the period.

Meanwhile, Turkey imported around 30.689 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the first half of 2026, a 2.64% increase compared to the same period last year.

The project was launched following a visit by Syria's transitional President Ahmed al-Sharaa to Azerbaijan in July 2025, and aims to secure production of 1,200-1,300 megawatts of electricity for power plants in Aleppo and Homs.
