Azerbaijan's Crude Oil Exports to Germany Slump in First Seven Months

Azerbaijan's crude oil exports to Germany dropped significantly in the first seven months of this year, according to data from the State Customs Committee. In January-July 2026, Azerbaijan shipped 360,299 tons of crude oil to Germany, down by 45.5% compared to the same period last year. The value of these exports also decreased, amounting to $210.86 million, a decline of 40.9% from the previous year's figure. Crude oil exports to Germany accounted for just 2.8% of Azerbaijan's total crude oil exports during this time.

Azerbaijan's overall trade with foreign countries was also notable in the first seven months of this year. The country conducted trade operations worth $29.22 billion, with exports making up $19.34 billion of that total and imports accounting for $9.88 billion. Crude oil and petroleum products obtained from bituminous minerals were among the top exported items, with a total value of $8.03 billion.
