Azerbaijan's Kursangi-Garabaghli Oil Block Sees Output Decline
The Kursangi-Garabaghli oil block in Azerbaijan's onshore territory saw a decline in oil output of 5.55% in 2025, according to a report by Report.az.
In total, the block produced 0.85 million barrels of oil last year, which is lower than the 0.9 million barrels forecast for 2024. The agreement on the rehabilitation, exploration, development and production sharing for the block was signed in 1998 between SOCAR, Frontera Resources, Delta/Hess Ltd., and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.
The Kursangi-Garabaghli oil fields have been operational since 1962 and 1960 respectively. In 2021, CNPC's stake was acquired by GL Group, a private production company operating in Azerbaijan.
