Azerbaijan's oil exports to Bulgaria have surged significantly in recent months. According to customs data, Azerbaijan exported 358,800 tonnes of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous minerals to Bulgaria in January-July 2026, worth $253.1 million.

This represents a four-fold increase in volume compared to the same period last year, when 79,300 tonnes were exported for $48.2 million.

BP, which operates Azerbaijan's main oil fields, is investing in new wells and infrastructure upgrades as part of its strategy to maintain and eventually increase oil production.
