Baghdad Gold Prices Steady at 960k IQD; Erbil Sees Higher Rates
Gold prices in Baghdad have stabilized around 960,000 IQD per mithqal, according to a recent market survey by Shafaq News. This price is consistent with Saturday's rate, indicating no significant change over the past day.
In the capital city's Al-Nahr Street markets, gold sellers were offering 21-carat gold for sale at 960,000 IQD per mithqal, including varieties from Gulf, Turkish, and European sources. Buyers could purchase this same gold for 956,000 IQD, demonstrating a relatively small premium.
The prices for Iraqi gold, which is considered locally produced, were slightly lower, with a selling price of 930,000 IQD per mithqal and a buying price of 926,000 IQD. Jewelry stores were also offering similar rates, ranging from 960,000 to 970,000 IQD for 21-carat Gulf gold.
In Erbil, the situation is slightly different, with higher prices observed across all three grades of gold: 22-carat, 21-carat, and 18-carat. Specifically, sellers were offering 22-carat gold at 1,003,000 IQD per mithqal, 21-carat gold at 958,000 IQD, and 18-carat gold at 821,000 IQD.
