Bahrain's Gold Rush: Wedding Season Boosts Bullion Demand

Gold sales have surged in Bahrain as families prepare for the upcoming wedding season. The price of 21-carat gold has dropped to BD43 per gram, down from over BD60 six months ago, making it more affordable for buyers.

The lower gold price, combined with market uncertainty, is driving demand for bullion and bridal jewellery. Families are purchasing wedding sets during Rabi Al Awwal, while investors are buying gold bars as a safe-haven asset.

Silver, however, continues to struggle despite its lower price of around BD800 per kilogram compared to nearly BD1,400 previously. Demand for silver has dropped by approximately 80 percent.
