Bajus Cuts Gold Prices Again in Bangladesh
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has cut gold prices in the local market for the second time this week. On September 8, Bajus reduced the price of 22-carat gold ornaments by Tk1,108 per bhori to Tk234,038.
This decision was made at a meeting of Bajus's Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, which cited a drop in the price of gold bullion in the local market as the reason for the price cut.
The price adjustments also affected other types of gold ornaments. The cost of 21-carat gold was reduced by Tk1,049 per bhori to Tk223,541, while 18-carat gold ornaments now cost Tk191,931 per bhori, down from Tk933.
In a similar move on September 6, Bajus had cut the price of 22-carat gold by Tk2,216 per bhori to Tk235,146. This latest round of price cuts has brought down the price of 22-carat gold ornaments by a total of Tk3,324 per bhori.
