Bajus Cuts Gold Prices Again, Silver Too
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has reduced the price of gold ornaments for the second time in two days, effective from 10am today. The price of 22-carat gold ornaments, including VAT, now stands at Tk2,36,254 per bhori, down by Tk4,374 per bhori.
The new pricing comes as a result of a fall in the price of tejabi (pure) gold in the local market. Bajus said it has responded to this change by lowering its prices.
In addition to 22-carat gold, other types of gold ornaments have also seen price reductions: 21-carat gold is now Tk2,25,640 per bhori, down from Tk2,29,781; 18-carat gold is Tk1,93,739 per bhori, down from Tk1,97,355; and traditional gold ornaments are now Tk1,58,280 per bhori, down from Tk1,61,196.
The association has also revised the prices of silver ornaments. The VAT-inclusive price of 22-carat silver ornaments is now Tk5,132 per bhori, down by Tk175; 21-carat silver is Tk4,957 per bhori, down by Tk117; and traditional silver ornaments are now Tk3,208 per bhori, down from Tk3,324.
