Bajus Cuts Gold Prices by BDT 7,115 Per Bhori for Fifth Time This Year
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has revised gold prices downward for the fifth time this year. Following four consecutive hikes, BAJUS cut bullion rates by BDT 7,115 per bhori. The current price of 22-carat yellow metal is now set at BDT 2,40,628 per bhori, inclusive of value-added tax.
This latest adjustment took effect on Saturday, October 1, and applies to all retail jewellery establishments in the country. According to BAJUS, the decrease was triggered by a drop in the valuation of domestically acquired pure Tejabi gold.
The updated pricing structure also affects other types of gold. The tariff for 21-carat variants has been set at BDT 2,29,781 per bhori, while 18-carat gold will retail at BDT 1,97,355 per bhori. Additionally, ornaments crafted under conventional methods will command a price of BDT 1,61,196 per bhori.
