Bajus Cuts Gold Prices in Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has reduced gold prices by Tk7,115 per bhori in Bangladesh after four consecutive increases. The new price of 22-carat gold is Tk2,40,628 per bhori including VAT.

This reduction came into effect at 10am on August 29th, as Bajus reviewed the overall market situation and found that the price of locally sourced Tejabi gold had declined.

The new prices for different types of gold are as follows: 22-carat gold will cost Tk2,40,628 per bhori, 21-carat gold will be priced at Tk2,29,781 per bhori, 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk1,97,355 per bhori, and gold under the traditional system will cost Tk1,61,196 per bhori.

Silver prices have also been reduced by Tk175 per bhori, with the price of 22-carat silver set at Tk5,307 per bhori including VAT. The revised prices will remain effective until further notice and apply to all jewellery shops in Bangladesh.
