BAJUS Hikes Gold Price by Tk 5,482 per Bhori Amid Local Market Rate Adjustments
The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices in the local market, increasing the rate of 22-carat gold to Tk 2,46,110 per bhori. The new rate is effective from Saturday morning at 10am and includes VAT.
This adjustment marks the 106th time BAJUS has revised gold prices this year, with rates raised 54 times and lowered 51 times. The association also increased silver prices alongside gold, raising the price of 22-carat silver by Tk 175 to Tk 5,482 per bhori.
The new rate for other types of gold is as follows: 21-carat gold will cost Tk 2,35,030 per bhori (11.664 grams), while 18-carat gold will be priced at Tk 2,01,846 per bhori. Traditional gold will cost Tk 1,64,812 per bhori.
The association's rules for ornament exchange and purchase remain unchanged, with VAT already included in the sale price of gold and silver ornaments. Jewellers cannot charge VAT separately from customers.
