BAJUS Raises Gold Prices Again Amid International Market Volatility
The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has raised gold prices in the country for the second time this month. The price of 22-carat gold per bhori, which is equivalent to 11.664 grams, now stands at Tk 2,35,146, inclusive of VAT.
This increase follows a rise in raw gold prices in the international market. BAJUS announced the revised gold prices through a notification on Tuesday morning, August 11, and they took effect from 10am that day.
The new prices will remain in effect across all jewelry establishments in the country until further notice. According to BAJUS, customers will have to pay Tk 2,35,146 per bhori for 22-carat gold, while 21-carat gold is now priced at Tk 2,24,590 and 18-carat gold at Tk 1,92,864 per bhori.
Bajus clarified that the applicable VAT is already included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments. However, making charges will apply additionally depending on the design and craftsmanship.
