Baker Hughes Lands Major Orders for Louisiana LNG Expansion
Global energy company Baker Hughes has secured two significant orders to support the expansion of Venture Global's Plaquemines LNG facility in Louisiana, US. The first order involves supplying a modularised liquefied natural gas (LNG) system for the 28 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) facility, which will be formed by eight single mixed-refrigerant (SMR) liquefaction modules and four liquefaction blocks with advanced centrifugal compressor technology.
The second order is for 13 gas compression systems driven by Frame 5/2E gas turbines for the Cloud Connector Pipeline project. This expansion will provide feedgas to the Plaquemines facility, making it one of the largest deployments for LNG feed gas transportation in the US.
According to Venture Global's CEO Mike Sabel, the deal will ensure the company has the necessary feed gas transportation to carry out the project. Baker Hughes is a supplier across 100 mtpa of Venture Global's existing and planned production capacity.
