Baker Hughes Wins Major Contract for Louisiana LNG Expansion Project
Baker Hughes has won a major contract to provide liquefaction solutions for Venture Global LNG's CP2 project in Louisiana, one of the largest LNG export developments under construction in the US.
The scope includes six liquefaction blocks with 12 modules each, based on single mixed-refrigerant technology and related compression trains from Baker Hughes. The total capacity will be approximately 29 MTPA (million tons per annum) of LNG.
The CP2 project is a significant expansion to the existing Calcasieu Pass facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, and is designed to be supported by the CP Express Pipeline, which will transport natural gas from Texas and Louisiana to the export terminal.
Venture Global's modular, mid-scale liquefaction train strategy aims to reduce construction costs and accelerate commissioning compared with traditional large-scale LNG facilities. The project has secured over $20 billion in project financing, making it one of the largest energy infrastructure financings in the US.
