Balochistan Flour Prices Soar Amid Wheat Transport Disruptions
Flour prices have surged in Balochistan due to disruptions in wheat transportation from Punjab and Sindh, causing concern among public representatives. The issue has prompted calls for uninterrupted interprovincial supplies to ensure sufficient flour is available in the region.
The price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour has reportedly reached Rs3,000 in Quetta, while 50kg and 100kg bags are priced at approximately Rs7,500 and Rs15,000 respectively. Public representatives have urged the government to address the issue by removing obstacles to wheat transportation.
They warned that prolonged supply disruptions could lead to shortages and further burden low- and middle-income families already facing inflation and rising household expenses.
