Bangladesh Approves LNG Cargoes Procurement to Meet Energy Demand
The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) has approved the procurement of four liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes to meet Bangladesh's energy demand. The committee, presided over by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, met at the Bangladesh Secretariat and recommended approval for the proposals presented by the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
The four LNG cargoes will be procured from different suppliers: Aramco Trading Singapore, BP Singapore Pte Ltd, Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, and Saudi Aramco's trading arm. The prices of the LNG cargoes range from $23.98 to $28.03 per million British thermal units (MMBtu).
The 49th LNG cargo, scheduled for delivery on September 25-26, will be procured from Aramco Trading Singapore at $27.54 per MMBtu. The 50th and 51st cargoes, scheduled for October 1-2 and October 5-6 respectively, will be supplied by BP Singapore Pte Ltd and Vitol Asia Pte Ltd at $28.03 and $26.6688 per MMBtu.
