Bangladesh Approves LNG Purchase from Posco and Total

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase has approved a proposal to purchase two cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for delivery in September. The approval was given at the 41st meeting of the committee held at the Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury in the chair.

Under the approved proposal, Posco International Corporation will supply one LNG cargo for delivery on September 13-14, designated as the 46th cargo, at US$24.625 per MMBtu. Another cargo, designated as the 47th, will be supplied by Total Energies Gas & Power Ltd, UK, for delivery on September 23-24 at US$24.25 per MMBtu.

The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources placed the proposal before the committee under Rule 105(3 (a) of the Public Procurement Rules 2025 through the Request for Quotation (International) process.
