The prices of essential commodities in Bangladesh have increased significantly in recent weeks. According to market analysis, packaged flour is currently selling at Tk 65 per kg, up from Tk 55 about 15-20 days ago, a rise of Tk 10 per kg. The price of refined flour has also risen, with loose refined flour selling for Tk 65-70 per kg and packaged refined flour priced at Tk 70-75 per kg.

The sugar market has become volatile, with retailers currently selling sugar at Tk 120-125 per kg, an increase of around Tk 10 in a week. Sellers have indicated that the price of packaged sugar may increase soon.

The supply of edible oil has declined in the market, with companies reducing supplies in preparation for a price hike. As a result, many shops do not have enough bottled edible oil to meet demand.
