Bangladesh Gas Supply Disruption Expected to End Soon
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Aninda Islam Amit announced that the gas supply in Bangladesh would be normalized soon. The disruption in the national gas grid was caused by a technical fault at one of the country's two Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs).
Amit stated that the government is working to resolve the issue, with Petrobangla and a private company collaborating on repairs.
The gas supply is crucial for power plants, industries, households, and CNG filling stations. Amit emphasized that imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) is being converted into gas before being supplied to the national grid.
