Bangladesh Gold Price Cut by Tk2,216 for Fifth Time This Month
The price of gold in Bangladesh has been reduced for the fifth time this month. The latest revision, announced by the Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS), takes effect immediately and brings the cost of per bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery down to Tk2,35,146, including VAT.
This reduction is attributed to a decline in the price of locally traded Tejabi gold. The new rate was approved at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring.
The price of 21-carat gold has been cut by Tk2,100 to Tk2,24,590 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been reduced by Tk1,750 to Tk1,92,864. The traditional method's gold price has also decreased by Tk1,458 to Tk1,57,522 per bhori.
Interestingly, despite the reduction in gold prices, silver prices have remained unchanged. Per bhori of 22-carat silver jewellery still costs Tk5,132, including VAT.
