Bangladesh Gold Price Cuts Again as BAJUS Lowers Rates by Tk.2,158
The Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS) has reduced gold prices in Bangladesh once again. The new rates are effective from 10:00 am on Friday, citing a decline in the local price of pure gold.
According to BAJUS, the price of 22-carat gold has been slashed by Tk.2,158, bringing the new rate down to Tk.2,31,880 per bhori (11.664 grams). The revised pricing also affects other types of gold: 21-carat gold is now Tk.2,21,441, 18-carat gold is Tk.1,90,123, and traditional gold is Tk.1,55,306.
The new prices already include VAT, as per BAJUS rules. Jewelers are not allowed to collect VAT separately, although they may charge varying making charges based on the jewelry's design. Existing rules for exchanging and purchasing ornaments remain unchanged.
