Bangladesh Gold Price Drops by Tk 1,108 per Bhori
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has decided to cut gold prices in the domestic market for the second time this week. The association reduced the price of gold by Tk 1,108 per bhori, setting the price of 22-carat gold at Tk 234,038 per bhori, including VAT.
The new prices came into effect at 10am on Wednesday morning. According to BAJUS, buyers will have to pay a 5% VAT and a minimum labour charge of 6% on top of the announced gold prices.
This is the 113th time this year that gold prices in the domestic market have been adjusted. Of these, prices have been raised 56 times and lowered 56 times, while VAT was adjusted once.
